1. Update the pages on your website frequently. Sites that are never updated or maintained are dropped by some search engines. Date counters are available which you can place on your page to show when it was last updated.
2. Create additional value on your web pages. If you have joint venture partners or affiliates you can put links to their sites on your pages and have them do the same for you. You can also advertise their books or videos, if these products relate to your industry and are not in competition with your own product.
3. With an opt-in form your customers can opt-in for discounts and freebies. Place a link on your site to invite customers to ‘opt in’ to get a monthly newsletter or valuable coupons.
4. Add a link to your primary page with a script ‘Book Mark or Add this site to your Favorites’.
5. It’s a good idea to add a link such as ‘Recommend this site to a friend’ and when they click on the link it automatically opens their email program and the subject line is already filled in with something like ‘You may be interested in this’, keep it simple.
6. Keep your website brand consistent on all of your pages so that your visitors always know they are on your site. Use consistent colors, logos and slogans and always provide a ‘Contact Us’ link on each page.
7. Create a ‘Our Policies’ page that clearly defines your philosophy and principles in dealing with your customers. Be sure to post a ‘privacy policy’ so your customers know they’re safe on your site.
